Johnathan N. Tubb. Canaanites.

The book was written by Johnathan Tubb from the British Museum, which supports my conjecture that university-centered British humanities are just the abode of idle and well connected. The book itself is concise but the discoveries made by the Biblical archaeology in recent decades are nothing but revolutionary.

Namely, the urbanization of Palestine happened as a result of occupation and inclusion in the Egyptian Empire. Moreover, the strong places were populated by the "Sea Peoples" who were either taken as prisoners of the invasion of Egypt or served as mercenaries in the Egyptian army (see the stella above). Semitic groups, which did not agree with that order of things, migrated into mountains and deserts and were called hapiru. These were the beginnings of the Jews. Indeed, the ancient Hebrews were nomadic pastoralists who were frequently enslaved by the Egyptians early in their history because of their raiding ways.

Biblical history finally checks out but not in the sense fundamentalists would have liked!
